Position Available:  Lower School Foreign Language Teacher (Spanish or Chinese)

Age Group:   Kindergarten – Sixth Grades
Starting Date:  August 24, 2010
Status:   Part-time
Hours Per Week:  6 teaching hours plus prep time

Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree.  Must be able to speak Spanish or Chinese fluently.  Preferred teaching experience.  Ability to instruct, mentor and demonstrate classroom management.  Is personable and approachable by students and parents.

Description:   Small classes (on average 18 students per class). Specific classes would include teaching introductory Spanish or Chinese three times per week for 30 minutes per class to kindergarteners, a first and second grade combined class, a third and fourth grade combined class, and a fifth and sixth grade combined class.  Freedom to develop own curriculum and style.  Supportive environment.

Position Available:  Upper School United States History Teacher

Age Group:  Eleventh Grade
Status:  Part-time
Hours Per Week:  5 teaching hours plus prep time
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree.  Must be knowledgable about United States history, adept at teaching high school students, and be able to prepare students for AP U.S. history exam at the end of the school year.  Preferred teaching experience.  Ability to instruct, mentor and demonstrate classroom management.  Is personable and approachable by students and parents.
Description:  Small class (on average 15 students per class).  The class meets daily Monday through Friday for 50 minutes per class.  Freedom to develop own curriculum and style.  Supportive environment.

Position Available:  Upper School Physics Teacher

Age Group:  Twelfth Grade
Status:  Part-time
Hours Per Week:  5 teaching hours plus prep time
Qualifications:  Bachelor’s Degree.  Must be knowledgable about physics and adept at teaching high school students.  Preferred teaching experience.  Ability to instruct, mentor and demonstrate classroom management.  Is personable and approachable by students and parents.
Description:  Small class (on average 15 students per class).  The class meets daily Monday through Friday for 50 minutes per class.  Freedom to develop own curriculum and style.  Supportive environment.
