Meridian does not discriminate in any way on the basis of race, religion, national origin, or gender in admission financial aid, or any other programs administered by the School.
A Meridian Student Must Be Able To... Handle a challenging academic curriculum; attend Meridian School full-time; show initiative in academic pursuits; contribute to an environment of learning and respect; accept diversity in students and ideas; will develop talents, build character and seek opprtunities to serve; prepare for college and a life of learning to become productive and contributing members of their community.
Admission Process 1. The application and all admissions documents should be returned as soon as possible to the Director of Admissions. 2. Parent/Guardian must fully complete the Application. It is important that all questions are responded to, as the application is designed to assess the student’s abilities and needs, and the family’s commitment to a private education. Incomplete responses may reflect poorly on an applicants’ opportunity to be admitted.
3. A completed application includes: a. Student Application b. Transcript and testing records c. A confidential teacher recommendation d. Placement evaluations (to be administered by school) e. Birth Certificate and Immunization Records f. Affidavit of Support (Foreign Students only) g. $50 application fee
4. The Admissions Committee reviews completed applications on Mondays and a decision by the committee will be given the following Monday. Parents will be notified by phone or in writing of the committee’s decision.
5. A student that has been accepted will be offered a contract for enrollment. Student must meet with the Director of Admissions for a follow up interview to go over school standards and policies and to sign an honor code agreement. Parent/Guardian will meet with the Director of Admissions at this time to sign the contract, set up payment arrangements and review the same standards and policies.
A student may be invited to visit the school for part of the day. Invitations to visit the school are arranged at the Director of Admissions’ discretion. A school visit is intended to give the student and the family a sense for whether the schoolwork, the teachers, and the student’s peers would be a good social and academic fit for the student. It also allows the faculty to assess the student’s functioning levels and begin the process of an admissions evaluation. A positive visit and the student or parent’s desire to attend the school does not constitute admission to the school.
